Cultivated Instinct
Acrylic, Oil, and Pastel on Canvas (43x27 inches)
Created in Mexico City, 2025
This painting depicts the psyche as a living landscape rather than a fixed structure. Repeating arches, flowers, and atmospheric marks suggest emotional patterns forming over time. In Jungian terms, the work reflects the ego learning to coexist with instinct, imagination, and memory. Nothing is isolated; everything grows in relation to something else. The garden becomes a metaphor for inner life, cultivated but never fully controlled.
