Miqui is a multidisciplinary artist working across creative direction, animation, painting, and cello. She began her career in Chicago at The Onion News Network, developing visual effects and animation in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. She later served as the sole designer for Pride in the Park Music Festival, overseeing all visual branding from large-scale stage graphics to promotional materials.
Her practice now spans commercial campaigns, immersive installations, and live performance. She has contributed motion design to a documentary that was nominated at the Chicago International Film Festival and is now streaming on Netflix. She serves on the board of Half Rez, helping guide the future of motion design through community and collaboration.
Alongside digital work, Miqui creates meditative cello performances and raw, tactile paintings rooted in emotional release. Years spent living close to nature and the ocean profoundly shaped her sense of rhythm, patience, and intuition. Surfing became both discipline and philosophy, training her to read subtle shifts, trust timing, and move with precision. These qualities define her creative process today.
